Fleming's Right hand rule and Right hand grip rule.

Fleming's right hand rule

Fleming's right hand rule are used in electric generators. This rule used when a current is induced by a magnetic field. This induced current know as Law of electromagnetism. But this right hand rule only focus on the direction of induced current. As the picture below shows that the thumb represent as force or motion. The first finger represent as the magnetic field and the second finger show the induced current.
When a conductor ( winding or Coil)  attached to a circuit moves through a magnetic field, an electric current is induced in the wire due to Faraday's law of induction. This current in wire has two possible direction. It can be forward or reverse due to changing polarity. For example as this picture below shown, a conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it's induced a current that makes the conductor produced motion.

Right hand grip rule

Right hand grip rule state that your thumb pointing in the direction of the current and your finger point on the direction of the magnetic field.

For example as the picture above shown, the current flows to Positive (+) to Negative (-) so the direction of the magnetic feel will be Counter Clock wise. So what happen if the direction of the current is change? the direction of the magnetic field will be Clock wise.

The strength of the magnetic field can be increase by :
  1. Increasing the current
  2. the number of wires
Now you can play with your hand by determining the direction of magnetic field. To remember the fleming's hand rule easily there's the picture below shown to understand.
