How to wire a Fluorescent Tube Light


 Fluorescent tube light are widely use in office,residential area,and more. This lights are so efficient,long life span and low cost. To glow these fluorescent light, you need to know how to wire it. So let's do wiring about fluorescent light.
This is a schematic of fluorescent tube light. Before doing wiring, you need to know the component and its function.

A) Fluorescent Tube Light
This tube light will glow when cathode gives sparks the tube,mercury vapor emit UV light that not visible to human eye.To make the UV light to visible light,phosphor coating along the tube help to drop UV light into visible light.

B) Input Power/Power Source
Power the tube light

C) Starter Holder
Hold the starter to power up the light

D) Starter
 Fire up the light in safe way to light up the tube. If the starter spoil,Replace new one to power up.

E) Capacitor 
 Store and release current and stabilize power factor.

F) Cathode
Emit spark

G) Ballast/Choke
Increase and stabilize current

Wiring Of Fluorescent Tube Light


This is the wiring of the tube light.  When the switch on, the capacitor is power and current goes through the ballast. The ballast will send the current to the tube light holder and glow the Tube Light.The current goes to the starter and fire up to light the light and the current goes to the nutral and complete the loop.

Fault in Fluorescent Tube Light
There's is easy way to find the fault and fix it. Here some common fault and ways to fix it.


1) Lamp flickering too long.
 Solution : Replace starter and tube light

2) Lamp won't power on.
Solution : Check the power source and replace ballast or capacitor.

3) Lamp won't turn on
Solution : Replace start,tube holder (incase fault in it) and starter.

4) Lamp glow low
Solution : Replace ballast(maybe tube light)

How to check presence of electricity

We now that when a current flow through a conductor it's produce an electric field. like the animation show when an electric field is produce,you can find the presence it by adding iron filing.
You can't use iron filings to check presence of electricity. There's way to check presence of electricity.

Test pen

When the test pen touch to the conductor,the light in test pen will glow. This means there's presence of electricity.





Test Lamp

When the live and neutral wire are connected to check the out going current, the lamp will glow to show there's is presence of electricity.

Electric Voltage Detector 
 
When the detector place near to switch,or outlet of any electrical application,the detector will make a Beep sound to show presence of electricity.

Multi Meter
Place positive prob to live and negative prob to neutral and turn the range to AC voltage. The multi meter will show the current rating and the presence of electricity.

Tesla Coil

Have yo heard that the machine create sparkles and it awesome to see and sometimes dangerous too. That machine called Tesla Coil. Tesla Coil is invented by Nikola Tesla in purpose of wireless communication and Now day we called it Radio communication. Lets see how Tesla Coil Works.

Tesla Coil emit sparkles with high voltage,high frequency and low current. When Ac main it connect to the primary coil,it's produced a flux magnet that induce in secondary coil. It is called transformer. When current induce in secondary coil, current pass through the capacitor while store and release charge. when capacitor release the charge to the spark gap. the spark gap get conductor between air the primary coil is energize and induced secondary coil with high amount of voltage that create sparkles like arc maybe lightning.

Is Tesla Coil is dangerous?

Yes it is dangerous. Tesla Coil can power fluorescent light or other kinds of bulb several feet away without wire. If the arc contact to human,then the result will devastating. To prevent contact with Tesla Coil, we should ground ourself by wear chain metal shirt. When arc contact with the chain metal shirt the current will pass through the shirt and ground.

AC vs DC

AC vs DC maybe you see from a person's T-shirt,documentary or Web page. But it's War of Current between Nikola Tesla and Thomas Alva Edison. Both are best competitors for making electricity advanced and provide efficient electricity to our home now. So let's know about AC and DC and its history now.

Thomas Alva Edison who invented DC (Direct Current). He is a businessman too. He invented more electrical things than others. He is a famous inventor of electric light bulb as we use till this day. So let's see how Direct Current works.

Direct current (DC) is the unidirectional flow of electric charge. It's means the current flows through a conductor in one direction. Mostly Direct current can found in batteries, Chargers,and some electronics. To provide a Direct current, The alternating current with the help of rectifier that change alternating current into Direct current. DC is produced by generating DC generator what gives DC output.Now days DC is widely use in electronics,radio transmitter and receiver,and railways.




Nikola Tesla who invented AC (Alternating Current). His brilliant mind make our home provide electricity so efficient today. He invented wireless communication,AC motors and Generators. So lets see how alternating current works.

Alternating current (AC), is an electric current in which the flow of electric charge periodically reverses direction. It's mean the current will flow back and forward in sine waveform in particular frequency. Audio and radio signals carried on electrical wires are also examples of alternating current. These types of alternating current carry information encoded (or modulated) onto the AC signal, such as sound (audio) or images (video). These currents typically alternate at higher frequencies than those used in power transmission. Alternating current produced by AC generator that produced Ac current that send through power transmission lines and to your home.
 War Between Tesla and Edison 

I n the War of Currents era (sometimes, War of the Currents or Battle of Currents) in the late 1880s, George Westinghouse and Thomas Edison became adversaries due to Edison's promotion of direct current (DC) for electric power distribution against alternating current (AC. When Edison ask Tesla to repair his damaged motor and if he successfully repair it he will get some amount of cash. When Tesla successfully repaired his motor,Edison refused to gie his reward. Tesla upset and stop work from his company. George Westinghouse who invest Tesla's idea to make it reality. Alternating Current is widely uses now,because Direct Current can't travel so far than 2 miles. Edison's company is down. But Edison never give up, Edison took Niagara falls plans to make generation and make Tesla down.Finally Tesla suffer mental illness and Edison make his company better. Alternating Current are now widely use about 99.69% all around the world. In War Of Current, AC wins but both are change the world better.

Distribution Of Electricity

Electricity power our home for so many years,but do we know how we get the electricity to our home? There's so many process going on to power our home.This all over process called 'Distribution Of Electricity'. So this post will briefly how we get electricity to our home.

Generation : Generation is the place that produce electricity. Like hydroelectric power plant,nuclear power plant, and so on. This is the place was electricity produce to send through high voltage power lines.

High Voltage Power Lines : High voltage power lines also known as Transmission Lines that are output current or produce electricity from generation are to to these high voltage cable lines.

Transformer : Transformer are the key to the process of distribution. (not a Transformer from Hollywood films) This transformer will decrease (step down) or increase (step up) the output of voltage and current.

Distribution Lines :After increase or decrease the output voltage and current, this supply will send to distribution lines. This distribution lines will distribute current and voltage to home and industrial areas with certain voltage.

Homes : Now receive electricity and power your home fro all this process. So long process but don't forget to pay your electrical bills,or you won't get electricity to your home :P

2) Cable Cutter : use to cut the insulator of cable.Its come with variety of design to cut easily
3) Sheet Metal Cutter : used to cut any thin sheet of metal specially trunking and cable tray in           electrical installation.  
4) Cordless Drill : used to drill easily in wall and wooden surface.
5) Wall Plug : used to screw in cement wall with help of  wall plug. The screw can't easily into the wall and won't stand in so long.
6) AC Drill Machine : use to drill and break cement wall 


7) Saw : use to cut PVC and Conduit.
8) Screw drive Flat and phillips shape : use to screwed flat and phillips shape screws



9) Test Pen : To detect presence of current in a circuit and help to screw.

Fix wounded or Cutted Wire

Are you get flustered,Wonder how to reconnect cut or wounded wire. It's easy and take less minutes to fix it. Here things you need to have.

A Connector
Electrical Tape
Wire Cutter
Test Pen.

First step :
                                                Cut and peel out the PVC insulator.

Second step :

                                                  Now you get the thin conductor and twist it

Third Step :

                                         Put the wire in to connector with same terminal.


Fourth Step :

                       
                                                 Screw the connector with test pen

Optional  :If you don't have Connector
                              You can use electrical tape to connect wire with same terminal

Finally  : You successfully reconnect damaged wire.

Replace Light bulb

Replacing spoiled bulb isn't big deal. It's easy to replace any kind of bulb to your house,office and anywhere. All you need to know is what kind of bulb you replacing. Lets look at it.

Edison Screw bulb 

Edison screw bulb is so powerful that can emit light about 40/60W. but it isn't efficient. it can cost you more on your monthly electrical bill The terminal of this light bulb is the bottom is live and the screw is the neutral. if the terminal wired incorrectly,the bulb will not light.



Bayonet Light Bulb



The bayonet bulb is similar like a Edison screw bulb.but It doesn't need screwed socket. Even the terminal is not necessary to wired in correct terminal and the bulb still work. You need to insert the bulb in socket and turn clockwise and the bulb sit correctly. The output power is same as 40/60W



Fluorescent Tube Light 



 This fluorescent tube light is widely use in homes,houses,buildings and so on. This is because this tube light output power is 28W and it's so efficient that can save your money on electrical bills. This light but contain mercury vapor that emit UV light that not visible to human eye. To make the UV light to visible light,phosphor coating along the tube help to drop UV light into visible light. This tube light insert with the holder and turn clockwise to sit properly. This tube light doesn't require fix terminal like bayonet bulb.



Fluorescent Lamp

 
Fluorescent lamp works similar to fluorescent tube light. Difference between two lights are from Size,output power,efficiency and life span. This lamp provide output power 15W. This lamp consume energy less then any other light bulbs. This light not necessary inset depends on terminal.




Now you ready to replace all kind of light bulbs everywhere. But before replacing bulbs make sure you need to turn off switch of the circuit you going to replace the light bulb. Always Safety First.
